New Government: Patient Priorities Revealed in Survey by Patients Association

London, 2nd July: In a recent survey conducted by Censuswide, with support from the Patients Association, patients were asked about their current experiences with healthcare and their expectations for the next government to improve the health and care system.

The survey included 1,000 nationally representative respondents and 210 respondents from the Patients Association newsletter – Weekly News.

The results of the survey clearly show that patients are in favor of a health-in-all policies approach, with a majority of 71%[1] stating that all government departments should prioritize public health.

It is believed that those who are most unwell, experience health inequalities, or social deprivation are at a higher risk of poor health outcomes. A health-in-all policies approach would involve a cross-government strategy that outlines how different departments can contribute to promoting patient health and well-being, taking a holistic view towards health and care.

Rachel Power, Chief Executive of the Patients Association, stated, “These results are in line with our Election Manifesto, which urges the government to adopt a health-in-all policies approach. This approach would ensure that patients receive care that acknowledges their identity, rather than just their medical condition.”

The research was conducted by Censuswide, among a sample of 1,000 Nationally Representative UK Respondents (aged 16+) and 210 respondents from the Patients Association newsletter – Weekly News.
